Wax is one of the few free and really functional video editors that you can find for Windows. If you want to be able to edit videos linearly (cutting and pasting with total freedom) this is the program you should use.
In addition to the basic linear video editing, Wax lets you also apply some special graphic effects on each fragment or sequence: transitions, 3DText, particle generator, explosions, 3D models ... these are just a few examples. Wax works with any entry video in AVI, and audio in WAV. As the exit format, you can choose among AVI, MPEG, WAV, Flash, and some more.
